Simon Bernhardt was born in Sydney (Australia), where he studied Arts and Media photography at the University of Technology, Sydney.
Bernhardt first started his photographic career in Sydney working as a freelance photographic assistant for some of AustraliaÂ’s top fashion and advertising photographers. Soon after Bernhardt began taking on his own photographic commissions.
Through his artistic flair, intense dedication for perfection and quirky sense of humour, Bernhardt is well known for his special connection between camera and subject.
BernhardtÂ’s most inspiring moment as a photographer was meeting and photographing his Holiness the Dalai Liama, whose energy and presence has left a lasting impression on him.
BernhardtÂ’s work is regularly featured in numerous magazines, such as Hong Kong Cosmopolitan, Couture, DCM Magazine, Emirates Woman, Fashion Handbook, Jewellery, Sydney Wedding Fashion, The Sydney Morning Herald Essentials and Hong Kong Tatler.
His work has also been published in ACB Beauty, Art of Cosmetic Beauty Australia and USA, Black & White Magazine, Celebrations, Good Weekend Magazine, Marie Claire, and 100k+ Magazine, amongst others.
He has contributed to several exhibitions in Sydney and Europe including, ‘Wrapped in Plastic’, ‘Bernhardt Untitled’, ‘Bringing Canvas to Cotton’, and ‘Polaroid Holiday’.
He currently works between Australia, Asia and Europe.
